I’m a Midwesterner by birth (and a Floridian at heart); I grew up in a little town called Harrison, just outside of Cincinnati. It was a great place to grow up! I left for college at the University of Dayton (Go Flyers!), but ended up finishing my education at the University of Southern Indiana, where my parents relocated after they retired to live on the farm where my Mom grew up.
After college, I left for the Outer Banks, of North Carolina, where I’d been spending my summers already. I spent a few years enjoying the beach life before I discovered my first passion. I joined the Fire Service in Kill Devil Hills following in my Dad’s and two of my uncle’s footsteps, who were all career Cincinnati Firefighter’s.
Several years into my career, I followed my call to service into Iraq. I took a job as a contract Firefighter on a U.S. military base. I certainly found my share of adventure over there; and developed my love for world travel. My time in Iraq opened up the door for my move to Florida. I was fortunate to get hired on as a Firefighter at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, opening up whole new world.
In 2011, my Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I left my life, and Florida behind to go home and be with my family through his passing. That time with my family lead to a radical restoration of my faith. I found myself renewing my passion for adventure and community, through the world of ministry and missions. My travels took me all over, from Ghana, Puerto Rico, even to the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Through these whirlwind adventures, I also started my most exciting journey when I met my wife, Jo, in 2013 and married in 2014. Jo is a therapist, she’s got an undeniable passion to help people; I love her heart! We have two boys, Braylon is our oldest, and he loves to learn. Abraham is our youngest; he’s got his Dad’s passion for exploration. The two newest members of our family are our Goldendoodles, Kona and Maui, named after some adventures in Hawaii (and a little bit from that kids movie we’ve watched countless times in our house…)
A few years ago, we moved our family back to the Space Coast when I was fortunate enough to resume my Firefighting adventures on the Cape. I absolutely love this community. And it’s that love that drives me to want to help people on their journey. I can’t wait to work with you. Let’s get started!
